Community
Community is a vital element to a church. We understand that the cultivation of healthy relationships is key to a healthy, growing church. At VRBC, we use both Small Groups and Church-Wide ministry to build community.
Groups Ministry
We pursue and live out our mission as a church through an emphasis on building a healthy community of believers. The main way we build community is through Small Groups. Made up of men and women from all generations of life, these groups met during the week in locations through-out our area.
The groups gather for fellowship, care, prayer, accountability, sharing life and studying God’s Word. Our Small Groups are a place where we work to consider each other over ourselves. Each of our groups seeks to build true Christian community among its members and seeks to be blessing to the wider community through outreach and missions projects.
Our Small Groups meet from September to June. Currently, we have a Men's and a Women's Small Group that meets weeknights at the church, as well as a Weekly co-ed Bible study that meets Sunday mornings at 9 AM.
See Pastor Jake or any Small Group leader for more information
Church-Wide Fellowship
There are several ways we build our entire church community. Here are a few:
- Several times a year we gather for fellowship dinners or cook-outs, where we come togther for a meal. This gives us an oppotunity to set down with each other and catch up on each others lives.
- In doing Missions Projects, such as Opperation Christmas Child, we come together to accompish an important task for the community and through that we grow in our relationship with one another
- Each Sunday, when we gather as a Church, we also are buliding community
Community is an important element of Church life, as Jesus reminds us "by this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13:35).
